My book illustration debut is coming!
If the title didn't completely give it away, I illustrated a book! It's called Love Letters: An Alphabet of Affirmations and it'll be out on August 27, 2024 through Little Bee Books.
Shoutout to Traci N. Todd for her amazing writing for the book that I was able to bring to life with lettering and illustrations!
The real beauty of this book is that it's for all ages because anyone can benefit from affirmations. Not to mention the book looks beautiful (yes I'm completely biased but still). This is a brief overview about what I want you to know about the book and what you can expect between now and August when the book launches in bookstores.
What are affirmations?
An affirmation is any statement or word of positivity that speaks to you personally. For example, Love Letters opens with the statement: "You are amazing!" I started getting into affirmations when I was in college (thanks Stef & Diamond) and they've been a special part in my life ever since.
A sneak peak to the opening of the book
When I first started trying to use affirmations, I will admit that it felt a bit forced and weird. This can be especially true if you’re not used to saying nice things about yourself aloud or haven’t thought about doing something like it before. This book could be the step towards saying affirmations to the people you love (which should include you!)
What you can expect & what I need from you
In the coming months, I'll be doing teasers, giveaways and more on my social media channels like Instagram & TikTok. What I need from you is to let me know what you want to know about the book.
